Biografía de Richard Jenkins

Richard Dale Jenkins (4 de mayo de 1947) es un actor y comediante, nacido en DeKalb, Illinois, Estados Unidos. Reconocido por su personaje Walter en la película “Visita inesperada” (The Visitor), con la que estuvo nominado y ganador de varios premios.

Primeros años

Hijo de Dale Stevens Jenkins y Mary Elizabeth. Estudió Arte dramático en la Universidad de Wesleyan, en llinois.
Ricchar solía pasar sus veranos trabajando como conductor de camión para el papá de John C. Reilly, quien también es actor.

Para el año 1969, Sharon R. Friedrick y Richard Jenkins contraen matrimonio. Tienen dos hijos, Sarah y Andrew. Actualmente siguen casados.

Carrera profesional

Richard trabajó en Trinity Repertory Company de Rhode, Island, durante 15 años. Ahí se desempeñó como actor de teatro, y tiempo después como director artístico. en el año de 1974, hizo primer trabajo actoral para televisión, y una de esas películas es “Feasting with Panthers”.

Para 1986 debutó como actor de cine. Richard actuó como Kelly en “Silverado”. Desde ese año hemos visto programas de televisión, obras de teatro, apariciones como invitado; hemos visto trabajos de Jenkins de la mano de reconocidos actores, directores, como en “Hannah y sus hermanas”, la cual fue dirigida por Woody Allen; “Querido John” junto a Channing Tatum y Amanda Seyfried; “Comer, rezar, amar” en compañía de Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem, y James Franco; “Diario de un seductor” en compañía de los polémicos Johnny Depp y Amber Heard; “La forma del agua” junto a Octavia Spencer, Doug Jones y Sally Hawkins; “, “El callejón de las almas perdidas” con Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett y Rooney Mara; entre otros más.

Richard Jenkins protagonizó “The Company You Keep” junto a Shia LaBeouf, Nick Nolte, Julie Christie, Susan Sarandon y Robert Redford. La película trata de un abogado ex-activista que debe demostrar su inocencia tras una serie de acusaciones.

En el 2007, Richard Jenkins aparece en la pantalla grande con uno de los papeles que le haría conseguir más fama y reconocimiento. Interpretó al profesor Walter Vale, “Visita inesperada” (The Visitor). Con este papel ganó dos Oscar’s.

Richard ha prestado su voz para darle vida a personajes animados, fue Principal en “Despereaux: un pequeño gran héroe” y Bobby en la reconocida película de DreamWorks, “Turbo”.

Richard sólo es actor de la gran pantalla, lo hemos visto en diferentes series reconocidas, y actualmente llega con la serie original de Netflix, “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, interpretando a Lionel Dahmer, quien es el padre de Jeffrey Dahmer (protagonizado por Evan Peters). En esta serie se cuenta con la actuación de Niecy Nash, Molly Ringwald, Colin Ford y Penelope Ann Miller.
